How Much Does Mobile Chair Massage Cost?

Mobile chair massage is usually priced by the hour, per practitioner.

The hourly rate depends mainly on the city or region where the service takes place. Once the location, number of practitioners and service hours are confirmed, the full cost is clearly outlined in the quotation, including applicable taxes and any known transit or travel charges. There are no hidden service fees.

Parking is usually the only cost that may remain variable. When the organization can confirm the parking arrangements and rate in advance, it will be included in the quotation. Otherwise, the actual parking cost is added after the service. Complimentary onsite parking can help keep the final cost fully predictable.

What affects the cost of mobile chair massage?

The main factors are:

  • Location: The hourly rate varies by city or region.
  • Number of practitioners: More practitioners allow more people to receive massage within the same timeframe.
  • Service hours: The total is based on the confirmed hours booked for each practitioner.
  • Volume and frequency: Larger bookings and recurring programs may qualify for customized pricing.
  • Parking or travel: Additional costs may apply depending on the service location.

Appointment length does not usually change the hourly rate. It affects how many people can be accommodated during the booked service time.

    Are there minimum booking periods?

Most mobile chair massage bookings have a three-hour minimum per practitioner. The minimum helps account for practitioner travel, preparation and scheduling commitments while providing enough service time to accommodate a practical number of participants. Shorter bookings may occasionally be available at a higher hourly rate, depending on the location and practitioner availability.

How does the number of practitioners affect the budget?

The number of practitioners depends mainly on how many people you would like to accommodate, the massage length and the total time available.

One practitioner may be all that is needed for a smaller group. Larger groups may require several practitioners, even when the service is scheduled over a full day, simply because of the number of recipients.

Onsite Health can recommend a practical format based on your participant count, preferred massage length, schedule and budget.

How can an organization work within a limited budget?

A workplace or event massage program can often be adjusted to suit the available budget without losing its overall impact. Options may include:

    • Choosing shorter massage appointments so more people can participate.
    • Setting a clear participant limit.
    • Offering massage to one department, shift or employee group at a time.
    • Starting with a smaller pilot program.
    • Scheduling smaller recurring sessions to spread the budget throughout the year.
    • Using Certified Massage Practitioners for employer-funded relaxation and appreciation programs.
    • Providing complimentary onsite parking where possible.

The most cost-effective option is not always the shortest booking. It is the format that makes the best use of the confirmed practitioner time while meeting the organization’s participation goals.

Are equipment, setup and practitioner breaks included?

Practitioners bring an ergonomic massage chair, disposable face-rest covers and the standard supplies required to provide the service. Standard equipment, coordination and setup are included in the quoted rate. Recipients remain fully clothed, and oils or lotions are not required. Practitioner breaks are scheduled within the confirmed service hours and are part of the invoiced time. Break allowances depend on the massage length and the total service schedule. These breaks help practitioners remain refreshed and maintain consistent energy and massage quality from the first appointment to the last. They are also factored into the number of participants who can be accommodated. When planning the booking, Onsite Health can provide a clear breakdown of the proposed break schedule and participant capacity.

Who pays for mobile chair massage?

Employer-funded programs are the most common option for workplace wellness, employee appreciation and corporate events. The organization books the practitioner time and receives one invoice from Onsite Health. The organization may fund the full program or collect employee contributions internally while still receiving one consolidated invoice. Employee-paid RMT programs may be considered when employees require individual RMT receipts for reimbursement through their extended-health benefits. These programs are reviewed individually and require the organization to guarantee the confirmed service period.

Is customized pricing available for recurring programs?

Most recurring programs are priced at the standard regional rate. Customized pricing may be considered for regular weekly bookings, depending on the location, number of practitioners and total service hours.

Any adjusted pricing will be confirmed in the program quotation.

Are deposits required, and how does payment work?

Most bookings are invoiced after the service. A deposit may occasionally be required for a larger booking or special arrangement. When applicable, the amount and payment schedule will be clearly stated in the quotation before the booking is confirmed. Payment terms are shown on the quotation or invoice and are commonly net 15 or net 30. Where a purchase order is required, the organization should provide the PO number before invoicing. Payment options include cheque, direct deposit, e-transfer and credit card. Credit-card payments are subject to a 3% processing fee, and wire transfers are subject to a $15 bank fee.

    Are gratuities expected?

Gratuities are not required or expected. Practitioner compensation is included in the service rate.

What happens if a booking is cancelled?

Cancellation fees help compensate practitioners for time they have reserved and may no longer be able to rebook.
    • 72 hours or more before the service: No cancellation charge.
    • Less than 72 hours before the service: 50% of the confirmed service fees.
    • Same-day cancellation: 100% of the confirmed service fees.
Any booking-specific terms will also be included in the quotation or written booking confirmation.
